Studio Tour Wrap-up
To quote (and borrow a translation of) Robert Burns: "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry." I'm happy to say, however, that in terms of my first time participating in an open studio tour, all that planning and preparation really paid off. What a fantastic day! (It was such a good experience that I'm planning to apply to sell in at least one pop-up market this year.) I met so many lovely people (maybe you!) and had a great time getting nerdy about printmaking and art. My one regret is not taking photos throughout the day, capturing moments on that busy day to share with you all. If you couldn't make it to the tour or just want more information about my printmaking process, check out the videos here: https://thimbleberrystudios.com/pages/my-process .
Interestingly, my two most popular prints, in terms of sales, were
"Hover"
and
"Fernando" in both versions.
Such different prints, but I love that that humble little fern print had a day in the sun, so to speak. The prints that didn't sell at all were my tree bark series.
They're from 2021, so I'm thinking of taking them off the market and maybe using them in book and collage projects this fall and winter. Speaking of projects...
What's next?
September is all about the yard and our growing food forest, with plans for lots of weeding, planting, and mulching as we start transitioning into fall. And then come October I'll be in the studio again creating and playing. Or at least that's the plan. We'll see!

No worries, Walter. It got pretty busy during the tour, and I know I would have been bummed if I couldn’t hang out and catch up with you. We’ll have to plan a get-together soon.
Again, sorry we missed it. I’m usually free as a bird but Coco is the busy one. We’ll keep trying!
